January 5, 2026

I think I'm starting to wake up from the lethargy of this flu. Hoping my appetite returns since I will be making roast beef dinner today. Ordinarily, I would have a meal like that on a Sunday, but I wasn't feeling up to making it and yesterday I was a bit pre-occupied with the roundup committee so it's probably best that I did wait.

Nancy told me this morning that she feels like she is coming out of this, too, which is good because I'll need someone to help me with eating the food.

January 4, 2026

Today is tour day at the Delta. The midwinter roundup is being held at the Delta Marriott hotel and they're giving the committee a tour of the area where the event is being held. I am on the committee, so I need to be there.

I'm not feeling the greatest, so much so that I'm playing hooky from church. I'd like to play hooky from the tour also, but I think instead I'll work my way through that.

Not much else on the docket today. I meet with a sponcee and I host the Living Sober Group. And somewhere amid all that, I'm making a roast beef dinner in the slow cooker. And that's about it.

January 3, 2026

I was sick all day yesterday. But, I had a good night's sleep, about 11 hours and although I don't feel like running in a marathon, I do feel incredibly better.

Meeting with a sponcee later and going to a zoom meeting in Hawaii after supper.

January 2, 2026

It's a shitty day, literally. I have a stomach flu virus and I have been using the bathroom since early this morning, Luckily, I have no pressing need to go outside and the meeting I attend on Friday nights is online, so that's a good thing.

I started doing the music file backups of the second drive. That's a smaller drive so it shouldn't take too long.

I find myself a little overwhelmed with the service work I'm doing, but I console myself by acknow;edging that one commitment will be over in April and the other one will be over in December of 2026. Then, I can go back to being just another face in a crowd, just another bozo on the bus. Maybe then I'll have more time to write.

January 1, 2026

The start of a new year. I chose two new readings for this year. For AA, it's the Daily Reflections book and for Al-Anon, it's A Little Time For Myself. I have at least one sponsorship session today and we will probably go to a meeting tonight.
